Hi
The simplest of is to design reports in character mode and generate the output in text format [ CSV- comma seperated value file] and open it in excel .
However I would go for the latest version of reports 10.1.2 release which has something called SpreadSheet formatting which is really fantastic stuff .

hai,
The easiest way is open the worksheet in discoverer desktop and select file/export there it will ask what export format u need give excel format and then click yes.The data will automatically exported to excel.hope this is ok for u.
