hi all,

can any body tell me that how i decided the size of the shared pool in init.ora file.
i install oracle 8i(8.1.7.0.0) on windows 2000.
what the criteria for set the size of the shared pool,
its any criteria or os dependent.

Please search this forum.

Please read the documentation (concepts and administrators guide).

And if you are just starting out, I'd suggest using 10g instead of 8i.
