I'm interested in the BIGFILE of new feature of 10g.
I'd like to know What Oracle have a backgroud of making this feature. I know that I will be able to use to manage datafiles by this feature.

Hi,

Let me explain u a bit. Bigfile is a new concept in Oracle 10g, where Oracle says that u dnt hav to add datafiles in a tablespace againg n again. Mean to say that a Bigfile tablespace can have only one datafile; not more than that.

I dnt know whether i m near to the reply that u wanted bt still i m trying. Oracle is reducing the task of managing datafiles individually instead with the Bigfile concept u jst have to manage a tablespace. Suppose for increasing the size u jst have to resize the tablespace rather than individual datafiles.

If u need more info u can check 10g docs.
