Hello all,
Can someone tell me the technical term that is used to denote a connection from one oracle database to another.

for example: I can see in my Oracle database a connection to another one which looks like this:

SELECT * FROM NEWOWNER.INVENTORY@GPLN.COMPANY.COM

What do yo call this? a global instance?

thanks all
das
