If you want to totally wipe the machine of everything oracle, do the oracle universal uninstaller first. Then look through and delete any remaining files like datafiles and binaries (c:\program files) and any other related oracle file. Search for the word oracle, and also search for files ending in .ora and .dbf. Then go into the registry and delete anything with oracle in it. But warning, only do this if you want to totally delete everything oracle off of a machine, which is far more than just deleting a single database.

I had used the oracle universal installer to deinstall the oracle 10g but seem nothing happens after the reboot. I had tried to removed the oracle software by removing the oracle folder at c:\program files. However, seems that it some .dll files are still in used which prevented me from removing it. Does any had a step-by-step procedure to uninstall it? I need to installed a fresh oracle 10g again. Thanks.

The first thing is to deinstall the product from Oracle Installer. Then remove the oracle folder from your system. Then
Open REGEDIT
SELECT My Computer on the left side of registry window
Click on Ctrl+F to open the search dialogue box.
Type in there oracle
Select Keys, Values, data and the press Enter.
Delete any value which you see.
Repeat this process untill you delete all the entries for oracle in the registry.
After this, check for .ora, and .dbf entries as well and if found remove those entries as well.
Find if you still have any oracle folder in your hard disk. If found, remove that as well.
This way, you can completely remove oracle from your system
Let us know if it solves the problem or not.
Regards.
Caution: Playing with the registry can harm your computer. Be sure to make a back up of your registry first and then only remove the above mentioned folders and files.
