I'm quite new with ORACLE Forms and I'm trying to read some data from external device via COMM Port. Anyone have some solutions?
Please, help me!
Application is running n server and device is connected localy on my PC.
My device iz DPI605R for purpose of pressure measuring.

I guess uou can use a OCX MSCOMMCONTROL in your forms.
I had this job done using a vb communication compenent and calling it as a executable in oracle forms. This used to write data in a file, which oracle forms used to read, display and store.
You can refer more on mscomm ocx (mscomm32.ocx). This is very easy to develop in VB. Make a executable and call it in forms.

hi, thanks 4 replying, i have no idea of making executable in vb.net using mscomm ocx (mscomm32.ocx).
can u please guide me by steps for my prob... i am thankful to you.. i m writing u my req and actuall scenario..

I have a weighing machine, attached to my pc.. now i have to build custom a form, where i have to make a text field, and a button, and on button pressed trigger, i have to show the weight of the object in that field. this is the req, and nw i have no idea ,how to get it done.. your seggestion is thi sregard is highly valuable to me. once again thank u Mr. Cadot, waiting for your reply..
