We've been introducing OPM in a chemical company. Now we've faced the following challenge:
there is a product (prod1) which can be produced under different marks such as Mark A, Mark B or Mark C. Each Mark is subdivided into Sorts - Sort 1, Sort 2 and Sort 3, so that the items in the system are as follows: We have following items in system:
Prod1 mark A sort 1
Prod1 mark A sort 2
...
Prod1 mark C sort 3.
Items with no indication as to the mark and the sort are not acceptable.
Still, our production planning department composes a month production plan with no regards as to the marks and sorts, say: "Prod 1 of no marks and sorts".
Is it at all possible to work out an FPO for a "Prod 1" category, and in the course of production introduce the practically produced items?
What shall we do to solve this problem? Is it possible to create FPO for "Prod1" category?
