Hi, I got a SunFire V240 machine running Sun Solaris 9 install with Oracle9i (9.2.0.1) 64-bit SPARC.

I start sqlplus /nolog and type conn sys/password@IDB as sysdba;

I got the error ORA-01031 insufficient privileges. What could be the cuase of it?

ORA-01031 insufficient privileges

Cause: An attempt was made to change the current username or password without the appropriate privilege. This error also occurs if attempting to install a database without the necessary operating system privileges.

Action: Ask the database administrator to perform the operation or grant the required privileges.

SQL>username: sys as sysdba
Password:change_on_install
