hello,
I am trying to run:
ALTER INDEX magicuser.SYMPTOM_DAPK REBUILD ONLINE;
and I get the error message:
ORA-00439: Fonction non activée : Online Index Build
(function not activated).
I do have the ALTER ANY INDEX privilege.
How do I activate this function?
My Oracle server (Win NT) conf:

CORE 9.2.0.1.0 Production

Is online rebuilding an EE thing and you on standard?
Is that a regular index or a function based index or a bitmap index?
I don't know about your specific problem, but 9.2.0.1 has a lot of bugs. Patch on up to the latest 9iR2 version, or upgrade to 10gR1 if you can.

Sorry for abbreviating. What I meant was that some functionality (depending on the exact task and the exact oracle version) requires Oracle Enterprise Edition, while some things can be done in Oracle Standard Edition. Glad you got it solved.
