Hi,

I require some clarifications

1. My Database is US and I'm working in Singapore, I want to export data from my client in Singapore. What are the configurations I'll have to make in server/Client Side?

2. If My database is down , And I'm trying to "tnsping", will it succeed or not? and Why?

Hope your expert answers might help me and others who are looking for similar information.

Brayan.

1. Spool to a local file (via sql*plus) or use export.

No, I don't think so.

Point 2:

Yes it will succeed depending on 2 things:

1. Service to which you are pinging is available on server.
2. Its registered with Listener on server.

If both these conditions are met, TNSPING will succeed.
