Hello.

When I use PowerBuilder9 to connect oracle8, the error is coming: error while trying to retrieve text for error ora-12154.

However, I have used pb9 to connect oracle for a long time with out any fault. But days ago, the error came out suddently. I really do not know why.

I have checked some messages on this error in orafaq. But I am sorry to say I am still confused.

Would you mind helping me with this problem?

make sure you have given the correct service name.
comment of all your sqlnet.ora entries.
If nothing works
Please post tnsnames.ora entries ( relevent entries only. Not the whole file).
