We've just migrated to the bug ridden Oracle 8.1.7 OSDI. Our first few 0C4 System crashes have now been sorted out but we're still having a really nasty problem with messages being produced 'PMON cannot acquire latch'. We are using Access Manager for CICS and when the PMON message appears the CICs region CPU shoots up and everything goes slow. We've tried increasing the shared pool size by a generous amount but to no avail. We always hit the problem after a few hours. Any ideas?
