Dear All,

I created a database in C: drive but currently it's full so I'm copying the *.ORA and *.DBF file to D: drive.
I make those files to be offline and change the path in DBA Studio, when I try to make them online I got message :
ORA-01113: file 8 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 8:'D:\ORADATA\SERVER3\DEVMBS.ORA'

Is there any steps to do this properly ?

Appreciate your advices.....

Warmest Regards,

Akira

The old database file might be corrupt cause of out of disk space.

You need to rename the datafiles using alter tablespace rename datafile command.

I have done that command, the steps were :
1. Turn offline the tablespace
2. Run Rename datafile command
3. Try to turn online again ----> here where the error message came from.

I'll try again later, thanx for your advice

Warmest Regards,

Akira
