Need to raise Form_trigger_failure then proceed to next record [message #110854]

Need to raise Form_trigger_failure upon failed validation while UPDATING a record,(Click 'save', post_record_trigger fires, program unit executes and preforms validation, IF validation fais then raise form trigger failure occurs),(I need to ) then proceed to editing the next record, currently I have to close the form and re-open.

The shop I work in does not use alerts, so I need to raise Form_trigger_failure upon failed validation while UPDATING a record, then proceed to editing the next record. Possibly by the user clicking the 'current_record_indicator' of the next record to proceed.

I need help, any ideas? Thank you for your help.

"While updating a record" what does this mean?
- When the user leaves the record?
- When the user tries to commit the changes?

Have you looked at the 'when-validate-record' trigger?

It's a bit vague, I'm afraid.
