We are planning to get developed a customized solution for automating our biz processes, This solution uses ORACLE Database. It's a client server based solution where front-end is developed using VB, we plannig to extend the solution and planning to develop a few web pages(ASP) in house which communicate with Central Oracle database and we planning to host these ASP pages on IIS within local LAN.
Please suggest Oracle License type for purchase, keeping in mind that in future when same web pages are accessed from Remote users using internet where corporate IIS server behaves as web server and having Live IP allocated to it by ISP.
What type of Oracle License is suggested to buy. As of now we have planned for Oracle Standard Edition (Named User License).
Are these license are enough for remote client computer to connect to corporate IIS server using internet connection and browse to ASP pages which communicates to Oracle database.
Thanks
Shyam

Hi,
CPU based licensing is usually more appropriate for
Internet connected systems. However, it would be best
to ask your Oracle Sales Consultant to explain the
details. Ask them to provide a per CPU and per Named
User Plus licensing quote, this way you can decide
which option would be best.
Best regards.
