Position Title: Data Base Designer
Term: Contract-to-hire
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: 6+ month
Job Description:
ETL modeling utilizing Oracle Warehouse Builder to move and transform data, develop and implement business intelligence systems, perform metadata management, or create and manage Oracle databases and metadata:
· Create a definition of a data warehouse.
· Configure the definitions for a physical instance of the data warehouse.
· Validate the set of definitions and their configurations.
· Generate a set of scripts to create and populate the data warehouse instance.
· Generate data transformation scripts.
· Deploy and initially load the data warehouse instance.
· Maintain the physical instance by conditionally refreshing it with generated scripts.
· Integrate Warehouse Builder metadata with other Business Intelligence products.
· Populate Oracle Discoverer EULs and OLAP catalogs for analyzing the data warehouse.
Duties:
· Metadata Modeling using Oracle Designer, Warehouse Builder and Work Flow
· Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) design, development and deployment.
· Workflow process development and deployment
· Programmatic Extensibility, Internet-Enabled Workflow
· ETL infrastructure of Oracle 10g/9i and Oracle Stream to integrate data
· Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager Job scheduling, alerts and credentials
· Working knowledge 10g/9iR2 ETL infrastructure capabilities
· Change Management and Version Control
· Scripting using Oracle Metabase (OMB) command line
· Mentor less experienced staff
· Document data warehouse infrastructure and components.
Skills and Experience:
Required Skills:
- Metadata Modeling tools: Oracle Designer 9i, Warehouse Builder and Work Flow
- Logical Data Modeling: System Development Life Cycle, DFD, and ERD
- Physical Data Modeling: DDL, DML and ETL
- Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) Extraction, Transformation and
Loading (ETL) design, development and deployment.
- Oracle workflow development and deployment
- Oracle Workflow Builder, Workflow Engine, Workflow Definitions Loader,
Workflow Processes
- Programmatic Extensibility, Internet-Enabled Workflow
- Experience with ETL infrastructure of Oracle 10g/9i and Oracle Stream to integrate
data
- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager Job scheduling, alerts and
credentials
- Working knowledge 10g/9iR2 ETL infrastructure capabilities
- Change Management and Version Control

Desired Skills:
Designer, PLSQL, J2EE
Education, Certification & Training Experience
Bachelor degree in related field desired.
