Okay, one more question. What's the difference between a DBA and an application developer?

a DBA is someone who looks after the maintenance of a DB, or creates it, tunes it (makes or keeps it performant), who is responsable for backups and (if necessary) recovery...
An application developer makes an application using a programming language and/or tool like VB, Java, Oracle Forms,...
