Hi all,
I have to find out and suggest about Databse design for a retail Chain.
Each store will have apprximately around 3 Gig data. If the Chain has 300 stores , the total databse size may be almost a terabyte. What is better in this case, a big centralized data or distributed databases(each store having its own databse) in a hosted environment?. Can anybody please throw some light? Also is there any scalability issues for an Oracle OLTP databse with Terabyte?
thanks
Mike

"Oracle Design" by O'Reilly covers this. The book is Oracle 7.x era but still all very relevant. Concise chapters will give you the info you need. Price search on www.addall.com
