i'm using xp professional and want to install oracle 9i. i started installing it but when the process was only 23% i cancelled it. then i just delete the folders of oracle from my pc. now whenever i entered the cd to install oracle again after the welcome screen as soon as i give next the cd stops working..the condition of the cd is perfectly allright. can anyone help me with this situation? i want to install oracle but without reinstalling my xp.

If you do not have any oracle software installed, you could try deleting 'program filesoracle' (which is updated by the installer), and deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareOracle from the registry.
This has always worked for me in the past, but I have not tried it on XP.
