Folks,

I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 on NT 4.0. Everything seemed to go smooth until the last stages. I get a pop-up window with an error message

o/s error in starting service oracle
oracleorahome81agent error

I hit IGNORE then I get another one,

o/s error in starting service oracle
oracleorahome81datagatherer error

I hit IGNORE again, then a message appears saying the installation was successfully completed.

What I am I missing ? Do I need to reinstall again ?

I don't know what your problem is but try looking in the event log. It may give more information about your particular problem.
