Hi, I'm a newby on this Oracle world. I would like to find some comparison chart or some facts to support my decision of using Oracle 8i for developing a web application instead of Oracle 7.3. (The last release of both versions). And if it's possible to use Oracle 8i to access databases from Oracle 7.3 (I assume this is possible, but I must have a doc that states it).
Thanks!
Regards,
An Extremely Oracle Newby

oracle 8i is a database itself. It is an upgrade from 8 which is an upgrade from 7.3.
oracle 8i is better at accessing web applications (the i in 8i is internet).
Although you can manipulate 7.3 to access web applications by using the pl/sql cartridge to generate html pages).
Go to technet.com to obtain manuals for both.
