Need small help, got the following error while trying to install Oracle10g on Linux Redhat 9.0). Can any one help .Its not even opening the universal Installer
[[oracle@localhost Disk1]]$ ./runInstaller
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
Checking installer requirements...
Checking operating system version: must be redhat-2.1, UnitedLinux-1.0 or redhat-3

Hi,
Redhat 9.0 is not a "supported" version of Linux. Nevertheless, many people are using Oracle on RH9.0 without any major problems.
To trick the installer, edit your "/etc/redhat-release" file and change the version to one that is supported. You probably want to save the previous version of your "redhat-release" file to a different name, and put it back when you are done with the installation.
