I would like to know what are the limitation of downloaded linux based demo version of Oracle 9i.

If I am not mistaken (which could well be the case), you are only permitted to use it for development, and (personal) learning. You may not use it with live data, or perform 'real' work with it.
Oh, and I believe that linux 9i does not support generic connectivity (linking to other databases via odbc/ole db).
