Oracle9iAS install failure [message #98951]

I am trying to install Oracle9iAS R2 Infrastructure on ASP Linux 9. The install went fine till the DBCA part where it blew up with the error:
ORA-01503: Create controlfile failed
Error opening password file
Unable to obtained file status

Does anyone know a work around? Have anyone successfully installed Oracle9iAS on Linux OS?
Please help!

please try this.
create a password file using orapwd in ORACLE_HOME/dbs.
create the password file named 'orapw' ( because we deal with the customer database, which is preconfigured with these).
---
orapwd file=orapw password=oracle
---
try infrastructure installation again.

Thanks for the answer.
And have you installed your Oracle9iAS this way, and is it working successfully now?
Or you just think that might work, but haven't tried it by yourself?
