oracle 8.1.6installation problem [message #98033]

i am trying to install oracle (8i) 8.1.6 in red hat linux 9

Dear sir i posted this error in linux faq but no reply
i set these variables

export ORACLE_BASE=/home/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin:$PATH
export ORACLE_OWNER=oracle
export ORACLE_SID=ora9i
export ORACLE_TERM=xterm

export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/oracle/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export PATH=/opt/ora9/product/bin:$PATH

i am stuck with these error

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/1/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre. Please wait...

but there's no response and what have to do when i cheked the process
the runinstaller is running how to resolve this problem
whether i have to download jre 1.1.8

did u set your DISPLAY ? if not set it and try again.
and check your variables. ur ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE appears to be same ( which should do no harm...but it does not comply with OFA).

is the setting are same as linux.whether we can install oracle8i linux version on ReD Hat Linux8.can we install oracle 8i for linux(intel) in the solair(intel).i set all variables
when i am starting the installion its not runninig
pls help

you cannot use media that is meant for linux against solaris.
