I need some help. I have a database running Oracle database and we changed some unused data files from 2 GB to 500 MB. The only problem is that the OS still shows them as taking up 2 GB. Can someone help? I listed the specifics as well as the output from the UNIX server.
Oracle version: 7.3.4
Operating System: Solaris 2.6
Hardware: Clustered E3500s
Cluster Software: Veritas
File system: UFS
Volume Manager: Veritas 3.4
Server output:
According to oracle, the following datafile is allocated at 488M:
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 2097160192 Oct 21 18:37 .sf2kdata1_1.dbf
So is it oracle or operating system? One of them doesn't want to give it up!
Thanks for you help!
