Hello!
I'm creating a small dwh, may be its a kind of data mart.
Does it make sense to have just 2 dimension-tables and one fact table??

I'm considering different slot-machines containing one or more cartridges with. In the fact-table I want to store the contents of a cartridge (by day).
So my two dimensions are: time and cartridge.
My Fact-Table contains then time-id & cartridge-id
and the appropriate contents per coin-value.

I don't see more dimensions (like region or so).
In fact the slot-machine do have a place which you could use for analysis, but there is a relation between place-machine-cartridge.

Anyone got an idea??

THX

a typical data warehouse must have between 5 - 15 dimensions.. anything lesser or greater to that means a problem..
