hi

i want to read an image from a file dynamically into a link file or an ole object in reports 6i(i.e i want to send a parameter to oracle report , and the parameter will include the address of the image  in a specific folder 'not' in the database. is the a way to do so, like in foms builder we have a function api.readimage..) please if there is a way ill be very gratefull.

 

another thing to ask .is there in pl/sql a function to check wether a digit is numeric or character like we have in c 'is_numeric() ' or is_digit() functions

DO as below:

In Layout Model just make one field
for which the source should be the Image Path Column.

Then go to Property Palette for this field and make
changes as below:

READ FROM FILE : YES
FILE FORMAT : IMAGE
(This Property will appear when u make
the READ FROM FILE property = YES)

This should solve your Problem
