From the parameter screen obtain the month for which you want to generate the report.Select the sum or count of the columns for that particular month

thanks, rahul..
but i'm still not sure what you mean by obtaining the month from the parameter screen. Can you elaborate it? Bcoz from the parameter form builder(Oracle 8i) dialog box, it only shows the parameters such as DESTYPE, DESFORMAT, COPIES, CURRENCY,etc. There's nothing about month or something related to it.
