Hi,

I believe that there is a component required to run Crystal Reports Version 7 against an Oracle 8.1.7
database

Does anyone know what this component is or where I can get it ?

Hi there Emma,
The componenet which you are referring to is the ODBC driver which comes with the Crytsal Report and all you have to do is define the source and simply start running Crystal reports with Oracle database. I'm also using it and it works fine. In some cases you will have to define the DSN(data source name) and you can do that by going in Control Panel and clicking on the ODBC icon.
