How to clear form if there are "required" items ?? [message #77952]

How can I clear the form when there are some required items are null ?
It always gives me error : frm-40202: Field must be entered

SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('CUST.NAME',item_is_valid, PROPERTY_TRUE);
CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE, FULL_ROLLBACK);

Go to the item's property palette and change 'Required' to No and you should be fine.

Actually I really want to force the user to enter something on the required item.
How can I clear the form without changing the required property to NO.
