Is it possible to install Personal Oracle 8 (acts as both client and server) as well as Developer 2000 onto the same machine? i've tried this, and it won't accept both applications onto the same machine, it will only accept one or the other. Any suggestions? i would like to access Form Builder from Developer 2000. Does the database have to be contained on a separate server? please email me or reply to this thread if you have any ideas. Install your personal oracle8 first.
Then install developer on the same oracle_home,
however, when prompted with name and home enter OraForms in both instances.
Then copy the tnsnames of oracle8 and overwrite that of developer 2000.
Finally, delete sqlnet( only from developer2000).
This should work for you.
You should not have any problems with this. If you do, be specific about the kind of problem you are getting.
