Hello,

I have a BLOB field that holds both binary (image)
data and plain text. Is there a way to index
this column using IMedia and do text searches
on it?

I tried creating an intermedia index on the
table, and then do a simple text search like
contains ('abc') >0 but no results came back.
Do i have to convert 'abc' to binary maybe?

Did you get this problem worked out. I have the same requirement while working on one of my application.

Please let me know if you have any workarounds.

This problem exists only on LINUX installations
of 8.1.7 that have patch 8.1.7.2 patch installed.
All others (NT, Solaris, etc) should be fine.
The fix is a patch of Intermedia by Oracle.
