Object type tables differ powerfully from relational tables and the response you got from Amen does not do justice to the important modeling capability in Oracle.
Basically, with an object type, you have the ability to reuse a definition in both a relational table declaration, in other object type declarations, and to create whole/part,
master/detail relationships.
