i am using oracle9i,
when i am issuing the desc command to view the structure of the table i am getting error "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"
plz answer me how to solve this problem?

Probably you have to check your listener.ora and make sure that the destination database is include in the parameters of your listener
