Dear sir,

I have Daily Backup using Oracle's Exp / Imp Command line utilities.. I am using Oracle 9.0.1..

I am facing Error IMP-00058... and ORA-01483...
and it dosen't allow me to import a Specific Table due. abow Error Code...

Plz... I need your Kind help ...SOS...

Export File Created By Export V09.00.01 via conventional Path

Import Done in WE8MSWIN1252 Character Set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR Character Set.

Error Message:

IMP-00058:Oralce Error 1438 encountered.
ORA-01438:Value Larger Than Specified precision allow for this Column

export using exp utility is NEVER been an IDEAL backup.

look into your import.log. get the name of concerned table.
check your export.log . see whether the concerned table is exported properly.

If you are importing only the data and not structure using ignore=y during import,
a good chance is the mismatch in table structure between the target and source databases.

Check the block size of the source and destination. Both the block size should match else create a non-standard block size in the destination and then import
