i know the sql*loader is invoked by sqlldr command on the operating system. however when i type host from SQL*plus and then type SQLLDR at the command prompt in does nothing happens. Do I need to change the path?

set your ORACLE_HOME and set ORACLCE_HOME/bin in PATH.
