Hi,
   Is EXP80 still a valid option for a full Export in 8.1.7 ? Ran it and it seemed to complete just fine. Would love to keep using it as we did in 8.05.

Many thanks, Steve.

Hi,

You need to use the 8.1.7 "EXP.EXE" utility. The old EXP80.EXE utility might still work, but it cannot deal with the 8.1.7 feature set.

Best regards.

Hi Frank,
Many thanks for the reply ! Have tested an export using the old EXP80 but did not do an IMPORT of the dmp file to complete the test. Have just looked at the doc's and will analyze the parfile further.

Our existing

File=E:DUMPBACKVMFG.DMP
USERID=SYSTEM/MANAGER
FULL=Y
DIRECT=Y
LOG==E:DUMPBACKEXPLOG.LOG

Should be changed to

File...
USERID...
GRANTS=Y
FULL=Y
ROWS=Y

For a full back (which we do on a nightly basis).

Appreciate the major tip. Steve.
