I want to determine a value of column B based on columns A value.  How do I do that.

Example:

LOAD DATA

INFILE 'C:TEMPDATA.TXT'

INTO TABLE TEMP

FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," OPTIONALYY ENCLOSED BY '"'

( A,

  B "DECODE(:A, 3, 'foundit', 'no')

)

 

DATA file contains only one column of data:

trailing nullcols
