Hello,

I have a Problem with different Charsets like the Message below (The German special-caracters will be loose there dots).

Export-Datei wurde von EXPORT:V08.01.07 �ber konventionellen Pfad erstellt
Importvorgang mit Zeichensatz WE8ISO8859P1 und Zeichensatz AL16UTF16 NCHAR durchgef�hrt
Export-Client verwendet Zeichensatz US7ASCII (m�gliche Zeichensatzkonvertierung)
Export-Server verwendet Zeichensatz WE8ISO8859P1 NCHAR (m�gliche Zeichensatzkonvertierung)

There are 2 Solaris-Server (one with Oracle 8.1.7, the other with Oracle 9.2). I want to export from 8.1.7 and import to 9.2. The Datatransfer between the servers in via FTP binary-mode.
Will it work, when I change the Export-Client to Charset WE8ISO8859P1? If Yes - how can I change the Export-Client.

use the lower verson of oracle to do the export ( 817)
and use the same lower version of oracle to do the import into higher version( 9i).
else
if u want the othe way, u have to install the export views of 9i in 8i database.

do the export in 8i server.
do the import from 8i server to 9i server.
use tnsconnectstrings to talk to 9i database.
so u no need to do ftp transfers.
if u wanted to do ftp just make sure it is in binary mode. It will work.

I have a problem when i import the dump file in oracle 8i versons.it gives the error like that NCHAR set problem.NLS_language is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8IS08859P1.
WHAT CAN I DO?PLS solve it.
