Passing the data filename parameter in my table? [message #72182] Fri, 04 April 2003 10:48

My table looks like,

SQL> desc ddd_Data_in;
Name Null? Type
------------------------------- -------- ----
CRN NUMBER(13)
SSN VARCHAR2(9)
DDD_BATCH NUMBER(14)
PRIM_DIAG VARCHAR2(5)
FILENAME VARCHAR(25)

I am loading data in this table through 4 different data(.DAT) files.

My control file looks like,

LOAD DATA
INFILE 'ABC.dat'
INFILE 'ABC1.dat'
INFILE 'ABC2.dat'
INFILE 'ABC3.dat'
into table ddd_data_in append
(
CRN,
SSN,
DDD_BATCH,
PRIM_DIAGNOSIS
)

What i want to do is, in my FILENAME column in my table, i want to pass the data file name i.e. ABC, if that data came in from the file ABC, ABC1, if that data came in from the file ABC1, so on and so forth..

Also do i have to make changes to my .log file?

How do i do that?

Thank you..
