Hi,

When i try to import a 9i dump into 8i, it give header file error.

First of all is it possible to do so. If so, can anyone help me in this regard.

use a version equal or prior to the version of the target database.
so try exporting using 8i exp ( from the 9i).
and import using 8i into 9i.

don't know if it exist in 9i but to use a 8i dump in 7
u should use catexp7.sql .. may be exists a catexp8.sql

set Ur oracle environnement to 8. U should not use only the binary and all the libraries.
and run exp [[user]]/[[passwd]]@[[DB_9I]]
