We have reloaded the o/s and oracle software.
When we want to start the database, the following error
is coming when we give the startup command in svrmgrl.
ora 07329 - smscsg- too many shared memory segments.
Please help.

depending on your OS version and Oracle version.
reconfigure your /etc/system settings.

OS : Open SCO Rel. 5.0.5
DB: Oracle 7
Error messages : ora-07329 : smscsg too many shared memeory segment

Pls. suugest how to overcome the problem

Check your kernel settings.
Either reduce your SGA or increase your shared memory ( SHMMAX)
