I have a dmp file created with Oracle 8.1.6, zipped up and emailed to me, that I am trying to import into my personnel Oracle 8.1.5 and I get, IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification, error. I can import 8.1.5 files from another server without any problems. What could be wrong?

I beleive, the file is not transfered (FTP'ied..before zipping it.) with BIN option. Check if file was transferred in Binary-mode.
else
use 8.1.5's export utility. Run the export using an
Oracle 8.1.5 version of the Export utililty on the host database.
and import it. using the same 8.1.5 import utility.
