Hi i have a oracle8i back up with me. and i have to restore this back up into oracle8 server. is there any one to help.

Basically no. In order to go down versions you need to use export for the target version. You will need to have the person who gave the export to you do it in version 8 or install 8i. If you have access to MetaLink do a search on "import +compatibility +matrix". This will answer your questions.
