My database name is sydney. In the folder D:Oracleoradatasydneyarchive there are a few winzip files. They are of course the archived files. However when i try to open them, i get the winzip error 'Invalid header'. When i press OK the file does open but is empty. Aren't the files supposed to contain something? What's happening?

This is archived files. These files are looking as winzip file, But actually it is not a winzip file, so you get the error when you try to open with Winzip because they have difference format.
