Sir,
we are facing the following error while exporting oracle data.
exp-00008:oracle error 904 encounter
ORA-00904:invalid colounm name
EXP-00000:export terminated unsuccessfully
this error occurs when control comes to exporting synonyms.
we are not able to take the export (backup) from last 2 days,we also tried it by running CATEXP.sql but it didn't work. I will be thankful if you could help us as early as possible.
Jayanta.

Hi!
This usually happens when you have 'rare' tables names... I mean, you use $ or quotes in the table name...
Anyway, you should check your tables looking for strange names...
query dba_tables
Hope this helps!

A workaround maybe to set the parameter IGNORE=y.
If you specify IGNORE=y, Import overlooks object creation errors when it attempts to create database objects, and continues without reporting the errors.
