1) I have installed a new Database on WIndows XP professional on P4 with a GIGABYTE of RAMfor Oracle 10g.

It all worked fine until I installed Oracle Developer Suite 10gon the same enviroment. In control settings the LIstener status is started.

the TSNAMES.ORA is as follows:-

# tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: D:oracleproduct10.1.0Db_1NETWORKADMINtnsnames.ora
# Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

MONA =
 (DESCRIPTION =
 (ADDRESS_LIST =
 (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 203.45.220.85)(PORT = 1521))
 )
 (CONNECT_DATA =
 (SERVICE_NAME = mona)
 )
 )

EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
 (DESCRIPTION =
 (ADDRESS_LIST =
 (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC))
 )
 (CONNECT_DATA =
 (SID = PLSExtProc)
 (PRESENTATION = RO)
 )
 )

The same file is used in both environments.

I.E.

D:oracleproduct10.1.0Db_1NETWORKADMINtnsnames.ora

D:oracle10gDSHomenetworkADMINtnsnames.ora

I have been trying to solve this problem for the last 3 weeks now.

Is there anybody out there that can help me please.
