I'm using Oracle 9i on Win2K. It was running well, the listener always can start every I'm logon on Windows.

But I don't know why, suddenly the listener cannot start and I can't use my Oracle service db. I tried to start it manually from console, and got this error messages

--------------
LSNRCTL> start
Starting tnslsnr: please wait...

Failed to start service, error 997.
TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
----------------

It seems that the error is come from internal Windows, but I don't know why.

Can you help me ??????
I really need it,

best regards
Bhakti

something is gone wrong with registry.
did you change the system name or anthing?
Try removing the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment settings from the registry.
Start the Listener.
if everything is ok, try seeting them again.
