To whom it may concern,

In order to create a database link, I issued the following command :

create public database link rms
connect to fbs identified by fbs using 'rms'

The link was created successfully, but when I issued the statement :

select * from loan@rms, I got the following error message :

error at line 1:
ORA-06401: NETCMN: invalid driver designator.

How do I get out of this ?

Is "rms" a valid entry in the tnsnames.ora file on the server you have created the link with? Can you tnsping rms?
